Anyway, today I’m sharing a quick front porch refresh that I completed over the weekend. For reference, this is how our front porch has looked ever since I took down the Christmas decorations at the beginning of the year.
Yeah, so pretty much nothing except for a winter wreath, door mat, and one weed that survived the weed killer.
I started by switching out the wreaths. I’ve used this yellow flower one for the past 2 spring/summers and it’s still in pretty decent shape. I think it'll survive one more season. It was originally from HomeGoods. I also bought a new door mat from Target. The door mat in the above pictures is actually pretty new, but after reading this "Decorating Don'ts" post from Jamiee Rose about door mat size, I decided to switch it out with a larger one. And she is totally right because the larger size does make a big difference!
I wanted to add some color, so I planted a variety of flowers in pots from Wal-Mart ($18/each) and placed them flanking the front door. It looks so much more welcoming!
One day I’d love to add a small bench to the porch. Maybe that should be my next building project!

I love it! I need a new mat for my porch. My current one is getting pretty ratty.

Thank you for sharing! This looks so pretty, I love the yellow wreath, something about the space looks now so much more inviting. Love the pots with the pops of color. Very pretty. :) Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove all the bright colors! Michigan got snow yesterday, so I'm thinking it will be a while before I start decorating the front porch again. So jealous of your summery porch!
ReplyDeleteSuch a huge difference! The bright flowers/pots, doormat, and wreath add so much to your front porch and make it so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThe pop of color looks amazing and I think you totally have the perfect space for a small bench. HOA rules- those are the worst!! xoxo, Jennifer @ Decorating Delirium
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks lovely, it would be the perfect spot to hang out with a book and a glass of cold lemonade!
