Simply Earth’s Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly subscription box that contains four essential oils, 5-7 recipe cards, and most of the supplies needed for the recipes (including labels). Each month is a fun, new theme. Simply Earth also sells individual essential oils, blends, carrier oils, and pre-made essential oil products. All of their essential oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade oils with no added chemicals or bases. Their mission to “make it easy, fun, and affordable to have a natural home” really speaks to me as I try to move towards more natural, environmentally-friendly products in my house and on my body.
My mom was in town for my birthday over the weekend, so we tried out some of the recipes together. The first recipe we made was the Sore Muscle Soak. My mom works on her feet most of the day, so she’s a huge fan of soaking away sore muscles in the tub at night. For this one, you’ll need Epsom salt and baking soda in addition to the essential oils provided. It’s super easy to mix up and smells amazing.
We also made a whipped body butter, foot cleansing salt scrub, and clarifying roll on. I’m obsessive about washing my hands, but not about putting on lotion so my hands are always really dry. This whipped body butter will be perfect for them! I also have super dry heels, like they are so bad. Well, actually they aren’t terrible right now because we got pedicures over the weekend, but I would love to keep them from getting that bad again, so hopefully the scrub will help. The clarifying roll on smells amazing and the recipe card suggests applying on your wrists and behind your ears to feel clear and ready to tackle the day.
The last two recipes are about diffusing. I have a really nice diffuser that my aunt got me last Christmas and it was so fun to make my own blend. Usually I just diffuse a couple drops of whatever scent sounds good, but I’ve never really tried my own blends. The recipe card calls it a calming blend and recommends diffusing it in the morning to start your day calm and ready for anything. The other diffuser recipe is for the car and the box came with this adorable dog car diffuser! I just put a few drops on and stuck him in my car. Now it doesn’t smell like I drive around 3 dogs in there!
My honest review is that I loved this subscription box and I think it’s a great value for the money. It’s such a great way to learn a more about essential oils and the recipes were fun and easy to make. My mom and I had a great time.
Each month they highlight one organization to encourage people to get involved. This month they are partnering with Call to Freedom. Call to Freedom is based in South Dakota and they offer support to those who are coming out of human trafficking situations. They work with mental health counselors, medical personnel, and law enforcement to help the survivors. You can learn more about Call to Freedom here.
