Simply Earth January Essential Oil Recipe Box

Does anyone else feel like they’ve already missed the new year, new me train? I had grand plans to start exercising regularly, eat keto again, and get organized this year, but we’re already halfway through the month and I’ve made very little progress on any of those. And now the fresh start feeling of a new year is starting to slip away…ANYWAY, if one of your goals this year is to live more naturally and reduce the chemicals in your life, I’m here to introduce you to a fun, easy way to do that!

The Essential Oil Recipe Box from Simply Earth is a monthly subscription box that contains 4 essential oils, 5-7 recipe cards, and most of the supplies needed to make the recipes. Each month’s box is a fun, new theme (this month’s is all about natural skincare). All of the oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade with no added chemicals or bases.

Disclaimer: I received the January Essential Oil Recipe Box from Simply Earth in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post also contains some affiliate links. I receive a small percentage of the purchase price at no additional cost to you.

The essential oils in the January box are Bergamot, Myrrh, Ravensara, and Farewell Scars Blend. The recipes for the month are Lip Rejuvenating Lip Balm, Relaxing Textured Massage Bar, Skin Renewal Skin Scrub, Uplifting and Calming Body Butter, Confidence Booster Diffuser Blend, and Skin Healing Boosting Roll On. The box even includes the tapioca pearls and soap mold for the textured massage bar, plus containers for the lip balm!

I’ve always wanted to try making soap, so I was really excited to see the massage bar recipe. Technically it’s not soap, but I feel like it’s similar process, so I was able to scratch my soap making itch with this recipe. The January box includes everything needed to make the recipe except coconut oil and beeswax, which are both included in the Big Bonus Box (see below how to get it for free with your first box).

I used a glass bowl and pot as a double boiler for this recipe and it worked out perfectly. Honestly I was a little nervous about adding the Ravensara essential oil because it smells like black licorice and I’m not a huge fan. BUT the woodsy, musky Myrrh toned it down and together make a nice unisex scent. Adam and I are in the middle of re-doing the landscape in our front yard, so our sore muscles will definitely appreciate this textured massage bar!

This box is such a fun way to learn more about essential oils if you’re a beginner like me. All of the different oils and recipes can get overwhelming on your own, but this box makes it easy and manageable. As I’ve mentioned before, I also love what Simply Earth stands for. They sell direct to customers at fair and honest prices without any MLM schemes. They also donate 13% of their profits to help end human trafficking.

If you’re interested in trying the Essential Oil Recipe Box for yourself or gifting a subscription, it’s $39/month and shipping is free! Use the code AWAYSHEWENTFREE to receive a Big Bonus Box and a $20 gift card to use on a future purchase! The gift card can even be used on your next box! Learn more here.

    1. You try them! I was kind of intimidated at first because there's SO many different ones and they all have different uses. This box has definitely made me feel more comfortable about using them.
